Primary Prevention and
Mental Health and Well-being
in the Victorian Public Service

This section of the site explains how the VTPAT relates to the main policy documents relating to mental health and wellbeing in the Victorian Public service.

The Victorian Public Sector is guided by the Mental Health and Wellbeing Charter. The main focus of the VTPAT is protecting mental health by reducing work-related risk factors (e.g. job design, policy and procedures).

WorkSafe's Primary Prevention model explains the three main levels of intervention from Primary, Secondary to Tertiary. Again, the VPTAT’s MHIF funding is intended to focus on primary prevention.
